The cities with the most run clubs
We counted every crew we could verify in 183 cities. The results say a lot about how running culture actually spreads.
London tops our index with 214 verified run clubs, but the more interesting story sits further down the table. Rotterdam, a city of 660,000 people, carries more clubs per capita than any other European city we tracked.
The pattern is consistent: cities with flat terrain, dense centres and a strong café culture grow crews faster. Geography matters less than whether people can meet somewhere obvious and finish somewhere warm.
We will update the index every quarter as more clubs are verified.
